Renie and Tetra Pak Join Forces to Incentivize Carton Recycling Rates
07-NOV-2024
We’re happy to announce a collaboration with Tetra Pak, the global leader in food packaging, that’s set to take recycling to the next level in MENA! With Renie Bins now accepting Tetra Pak cartons, there’s an even bigger opportunity to earn by recycling. This partnership was officially unveiled at Gulfood Manufacturing 2024, where attendees got the first look at the Tetra Pak-shaped Renie Bin!
Why It Matters: Moving UAE Towards Zero Landfill Waste
This collaboration comes at a crucial time, as the UAE is on a mission to achieve zero landfill waste by 2030 in Dubai. Together with Tetra Pak, we’re tackling waste at its source by encouraging people to recycle and helping businesses and individuals alike contribute to a sustainable future. It’s all about circularity, turning what used to be “waste” into new, useful materials that can re-enter the economy.
More Materials Accepted
Since the beginning of this year, when we started accepting paper, we’ve been expanding the variety of materials we collect. Renie Bins can now handle plastic, aluminum, glass, paper, vapes, e-waste, and now also recognize Tetra Pak cartons! Our main goal is to empower our users and bin owners to make an even bigger impact by diverting more types of waste with Renie Bins.
Marcelo Piva, Tetra Pak’s Sustainability Director for the Middle East and Africa, said this is a key move for recycling in the UAE: “Working together across sectors is essential to make a meaningful impact. Through our partnership with Renie, we’re excited to bring carton recycling closer to people throughout the UAE, and we look forward to seeing the Smart Bin solution adopted widely.”
